Meet Us
Amanda Berge, LCPC is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and founder of Vitality Counseling. She received a Bachelors in Psychology from Trinity International University and a Masters in Counseling from Argosy University. She previously worked for community mental health centers where she partnered with schools, parents, and clients to treat a variety of disorders.
She opened Vitality Counseling in 2015 with the mission of inspiring life transformation, healing and hope through meaningful work within a safe environment. She is committed to helping the citizens of Barrington and the surrounding communities live their lives abundantly by offering relevant, evidence-based services. In addition, she is an adjunct psychology professor at Trinity International University.
Amanda has experience helping children, adolescents and adults overcome emotional, behavioral and substance problems. She believes that treatment should be uniquely tailored to a person's needs and goals. She genuinely cares about her clients and works hard to give them the tools they need to move past stuck points. Amanda primarily specializes in depression, anxiety, stress and trauma.
In her free time, Amanda enjoys reading, watching the Blackhawks and volunteering for a youth program at a local church.

Kristen Bauer, LPC is a Licensed Professional Counselor. After earning her Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Psychology from Taylor University, Kristen obtained her Master of Arts (MA) in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Florida Gulf Coast University.
Kristen joined Vitality Counseling in Spring 2017. She has experience helping adolescents, young adults, and adults overcome emotional and behavioral issues. Kristen primarily specializes in trauma, young adult development, anxiety, depression, relational issues, self-esteem, and career counseling. She is passionate about creating authentic therapeutic relationships that foster space for healing and growth.
Kristen also currently works at a local college providing education for the community and responding to allegations of gender based discrimination and/or sexual harassment. In her free time, Kristen enjoys drinking good coffee, cheering on the Cubs, and volunteering in the coffee shop at a local church.
